Draft for owner and legal review. Items highlighted like this need facts only the owner can supply. This page is not legal advice.
Who we are
meetthebatches.com is operated by [legal name / business name, address, country] ("we"). Contact: support@meetthebatches.com.
What we collect and why
- Free votes: your team choice, a random ID stored in a cookie (to allow one vote per day), and a salted hash of your network address that changes every day (to limit abuse). We never store your IP address itself.
- Support payments: team, amount, payment status and processor reference IDs; your email if you give one (for your receipt only); your display name and message if you give them (shown publicly only if you opt in and we approve it). Card and PayPal account details are collected by Stripe or PayPal on their own pages; we never receive them.
- Collaboration and contact forms: the details you submit, so we can reply.
- Episode updates: your email, the consent wording you agreed to, and when you confirmed and (if ever) unsubscribed.
- Analytics: pages visited, campaign tags (UTM) and funnel events (e.g. "vote cast", "checkout started") linked to a random first-party ID, plus Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless. No advertising trackers, no third-party ad cookies.
- Security: Cloudflare Turnstile checks that forms are used by people, not bots.
Who processes data for us
Cloudflare (hosting, database, bot protection, analytics), Stripe and PayPal (payments), Resend (sending email), Zoho (our mailbox). Each processes data under its own terms and privacy policy. Some are in the United States.
How long we keep it
- Payment records: as long as tax and accounting law requires [typically 6–7 years; confirm for your jurisdiction].
- Vote records: kept for the battle archive; they contain no IP address or personal details.
- Raw analytics events: up to 400 days. Unconfirmed email sign-ups: deleted after 30 days.
- Inquiries: up to 2 years after our last reply, unless we're working together.
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from episode updates with the link in any email. Depending on where you live (for example under Canada's PIPEDA, Quebec Law 25, or US state laws such as the CCPA), you may have additional rights; we honour them. We don't sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Children
The site is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. Payments require being of legal age to pay with the chosen method.
Changes
We'll update this page and the date above if our practices change.
